ESA Acceptance Protection

Do you currently have a pet?

You can get an ESA letter for an animal you plan to get or for an animal you already have.

Are you at least 18 years old?

If you are under the age of 18, then a guardian must be the point of contact with the licensed mental health professional.

Is this your first time receiving an ESA letter?

Did you know that an ESA could save you up to $850 per year by being exempt from pet rent and pet deposits?

Let us walk you through the process...

  • First, take our 2 minute quiz so we can match you to the appropriate mental health professional in our network.
  • Next, you'll have a telehealth consultation with a mental health professional licensed in your state. This is the only way an ESA letter is legally valid.
  • If you qualify, you'll receive your ESA letter in as little as a couple hours.
  • Your ESA letter will be legally valid, and your animal will have all the rights of an ESA. If your letter doesn't work (we offer free legal support to ensure this doesn't happen), you'll receive a 100% refund.

How many animals do you have?

All animals can be considered, including dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, small mammals, and fish.

Select all that apply.

Do you need an ESA letter for housing?

Our ESA letters are valid for all housing types, including long-term rentals, short-term rentals, vacation homes, and college dorms.

Select all that apply.

Our letters are compliant with the Fair Housing Act

Our letters meet all Fair Housing Act legal requirements. They include the mental health professional's contact information, letterhead, and license number. Under the Fair Housing Act, all compliant ESA letters (like ours) must be accepted by any landlord or housing manager.

Do you need your ESA letter to cover travel?

ESA Letters No Longer Give ESAs Travel Rights

As of March 2021, ESAs are no longer considered service animals and are not guaranteed travel rights, including flying for free in an airline cabin with their handler. Because of this, our ESA letters only offer housing rights.

Alternatively, if you are interested in training your dog to perform at least one task that mitigates a symptom of your mental or emotional disability they may qualify as a psychiatric service dog (PSD). PSDs are granted public access meaning they are allowed anywhere the public is allowed including restaurants, hotels and Ubers. In addition to this, they fly in the cabin of an airplane for free.

If you'd like to train your dog to become a PSD, please submit this form.

We want to offer some additional resources that you may find useful.

Why Do You Recommend Additional Resources?

The licensed mental health professionals in our network are not equipped to medically assist or treat those suffering from suicidal ideation, plans, or actions. While obtaining an ESA can be an excellent help in combating these urges, additional therapeutic resources are typically required. It's important to get help for suicidal thoughts or self-harming urges quickly. While our process is very fast for obtaining an ESA, it's best to seek additional help quickly so that you can get the help you need, when you need it. These resources listed above can help connect you with local resources if you are in need of more urgent immediate help.
